Be Encouraging!

Be a blessing to someone today! Just a simple, random act of kindness can really encourage someone when they're feeling down. Not sure what to do? Here are some easy ideas:

1) Leave a Bible verse on their desk. Nothing is as encouraging as God's Word. "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV).
2) Choose your
words carefully. Words have the power to build someone up or tear them down pretty easily. Choose to use your words to empower and edify. "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." (Ephesians 4:29 NIV).
3) Write a card. The upside to a hand-written note is that the person can pick it up and read it over and over again. It's a simple reminder that they are cared for and loved.
4) Do something out of the ordinary. It's easy to get stuck in a rut, doing the same old things. Make time to do something different and exciting!
5) Go on a picnic. Whether you pack up some sandwiches or bake your famous chocolate chip cookies, this sweet gesture lets that person know that you still care.
6) Be creative. Incorporate their interests and hobbies.
7) Be Christ to them. Give without expecting anything in return.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NIV)
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
